TAUKE

TAUKE, Az Tauke Khan, Aziz Tauka, Taukel Mohammed bakhadur (1680-1718) — khan, son to Zhangir's Tag, grandson Esim of the khan. I systematized and entered norms of a common law of Kazakhs — «Жеті Жарғы» ("Seven establishments", "Laws of the khan to Tauke"). For strengthening of the khan power and restriction of separatist aspirations of sultans to Tauke leaned on biys, being held in respect and influence among the population. Kazakhs under the direction of Tauka of the khan went war to "China-kypshaks", living some to the south of Tashkent, Karakalpaks, Kalmyks.
