BOGENBAY AKSHAULY

BOGENBAY AKSHAULY (Kanzhygala Bogenbay) (1690-1775), the batyr, the leader of the Kazakh army who has played a huge role in the history of liberating fight of the Kazakh people against enemy invasions. In 1710 Bogenbay batyr was elected the Supreme Commander of three Hordes. Under its leadership and with its participation Dzhungar invasion was reflected, defeat is inflicted over the Kalmyk armies at river of Bolanta (1726), Dzhungar at Niyaz (1727), the Chinese armies in battle at Talky (1756-58), etc. are crushed. Courage of Bogenbay of the batyr was sung by Kozhabergen zhyrau in the poem «Елім-ай», devoted it the epic poem «Ер Бөгембай». About Bogenbay batyr put poems Bukhar, Umbetya, kery Zhankisi, Segiz to Shakshakuly's sulfur. In 1991 at the intersection of highways Astana-Pavlodar, Ereymentau-Pavlodar the monument of Bogenbay batyr of which in national legends call «Қанжығалы қарт Богенбай» is established.
